Responsible Gambling

If you or someone you know needs help right now, call 1-800-GAMBLER (1-800-426-2537). The line is free, confidential, and answered 24/7.

Online casinos are entertainment. When they stop being entertainment and start causing real-world harm — financial, emotional, relational — that's a problem that needs attention. This page is a starting point for getting help, or for helping someone else.

Warning Signs

Patterns that suggest gambling has moved beyond recreational:

  • Gambling with money you can't afford to lose
  • Borrowing or selling possessions to gamble
  • Lying to family or friends about how much you gamble
  • Feeling unable to stop, even when you want to
  • Chasing losses by betting more after a losing session
  • Gambling to escape stress, depression, or anxiety
  • Spending time on gambling you should spend on work, family, or sleep
  • Restlessness or irritability when not gambling

If two or more resonate, it's worth talking to someone.

Self-Help Tools

Most operators we recommend offer self-management tools you can activate on your own account: deposit limits, loss limits, session time limits, reality checks, and self-exclusion (24 hours, 30 days, six months, or permanent). If you're ignoring or overriding these tools, that's a warning sign in itself.

For Family Members

Watching someone you care about struggle is exhausting. Gam-Anon is a support group for the families and partners of problem gamblers.

Our Commitment

IdahoCasinoGuide promotes responsible gambling on every page. Every operator we recommend offers the self-management tools described above. If you've had a bad experience with a recommended operator's responsible gambling tools — or needed help and didn't get it — email [email protected].
